We're excited to share that Baseline is officially partnering with Southleft. While the partnership is new on paper, the idea behind it isn't.

Over the last several months, we've had the opportunity to spend more time with TJ Pitre, Nicole Hampton, and the entire Southleft team. The more we got to know one another, the more obvious something became: we approach this work in remarkably similar ways.

We believe that the best client relationships are collaborative. We believe in teaching, sharing context, and helping teams build capabilities that last long after an engagement ends. We care deeply about leaving organizations stronger than we found them.

At the same time, our areas of expertise are distinct.

At Baseline, our work is centered around design systems strategy, discovery, architecture, governance, and design. We help teams understand where they are, where they want to go, and how to make thoughtful decisions along the way.

Southleft brings incredible expertise in design systems engineering, frontend development, AI integration, and implementation. They help organizations turn those decisions into systems that work in production.

For many teams, those challenges are deeply connected.

A design system is only successful when strategy and implementation work together. The strongest systems are shaped by thoughtful design decisions, strong engineering practices, and close collaboration between the people responsible for both.

That's what makes this partnership exciting.

Neither studio is trying to become the other. Instead, we're bringing together two teams with complementary strengths.

When organizations work with Baseline, they're also gaining access to Southleft's expertise in engineering, implementation, and AI integration. When organizations work with Southleft, they're also gaining access to Baseline's experience in strategy, architecture, governance, and design.

For clients, it means a partnership that can support the work from multiple angles, without sacrificing the depth and specialization that made each studio valuable in the first place.
